This is my blog.

I know it’s not the most excitement filled statement, but this is really it. Here is where I’ll post daily writing junk (like building my rough draft, editing it, editing my friend’s work, reviews…) but also where I’m going to post things that have nothing to do with writing whatsoever. You never know.. I could take a whack at celebrity gossip (chances are I won’t… most days.)

Let me start you off with the basics…

I’m writing a novel right now. I’ll probably end up cursing it and talking myself out of writing it… but right now, that’s what I’m doing. It’s pretty much the hardest thing I’m taking on. That and my senior year in high school.

Did I mention that? I’m still a senior. I graduate in June though. I’m happy, yet totally scared. Now that I actually found where I’m going, and how I’m going to pay for it, I can actually get on with the rest of senior year. I still have to send in my transcripts so Western can make sure that they still want me there. Anyways… It’s pretty rare for someone to be so young, yet know what they want to do or even more, who they are. I’ve never known anything else besides writing and music. That’s who I am.

Anyways, right now, in the novel process, plot seems to be the real issue. I have a very clear outline of what I’m trying to show in it, but there are times when my actions in the novel are guiding the plot elsewhere. I’m not sure what’s going to happen. My good friend Alex is a master editor, so I’ll give him a copy of it to see what he thinks. (He’s also the master at plot construction… but then again, he’s a science fiction writer. So I guess you have to be if you want to write in that genre.)

Other than the novel, I’m also a songwriter. I’ve written for basically myself, and my friends. I have this reputation at parties to pick up a guitar and make up glorious (and wildly funny) songs on the spot. Kind of like Phoebe from Friends but not really.

Well, I think that’s enough of introductions. One can say too much about themselves if they’re sitting at the computer typing randomly.
